The First Unibear may have been my Mona Lisa… but The First Unicorn is going to be my Sistine Chapel!
Why did I write The First Unicorn
I love unicorns. I have loved unicorns since I was a very young child. I collected porcelain unicorn statues, unicorn posters and absolutely fell in love with the movie “The Last Unicorn”. I was drawn to anything about unicorns because they were beautiful, magical and good. They represented innocence, love and strength… like Jesus.
Why Children are enamored with Unicorns
Almost everyone knows what a unicorn is, but do you know where they came from? Who was the first unicorn? How did he get his golden horn? And why did others follow in his footsteps?

It takes hard work, for this dance!
I love watching dance movies. Whether it is ballet, or hip hop, I simply love them. Why? Because the hero must endure. They must work hard, practice, face the challenges, keep struggling and then in the end – they succeed! They give the best performance of their life and win! It’s a feel-good moment that […]

A Hundred Pages ’till I Sleep
It’s early Monday morning and I’m up before the dawn, A story on my mind, gotta type but then I yawn. Coffee percolating, sleep wiped from my eyes, I settle down to start before the neighbors’ rooster cries. I’ll listen to the story playing loudly in my head, And transcribe each scene, exactly as they […]

Who am I to write this story? – The Pain
Who am I to write this story? That’s the question I kept asking God for about a month after the idea came to me. During my discovery of the story’s plot, formulation of the characters and outline creation, I felt I couldn’t possibly be the best fit for this project. This story idea came to […]
All authors suffer from OCS
You are probably wondering what OCS is. It’s a coined diagnosis my husband gave me a while back. It stands for Only Child Syndrome. OCS sufferers are used to getting their way. Without siblings to compete with, you ask for a new toy and get it, primarily because mom can afford one toy just not […]
Follow Me – Who am I?
Every social media site has their ‘thing’. Facebook is like, Twitter is tweet, LinkedIn is link, Pintrest is Pin, and a blog has follow. It wasn’t until Sunday at church that it occurred to me how conceited that is. Who am I to ask you to follow me? Jesus said, “Come, Follow Me and I […]

National Poetry Month – Why Do I Write i
Poetry, to me, is a very memorable form of storytelling. Like music, when your favorite song comes on, it’s not only the beat and the rhythm that gets you moving, it’s also the lyrics. Poetry is the same way. Quite a few authors are inspired by emotional situations, and that inspiration flows out of that person like music flows out of a radio. This is why, in my opinion, it is important to do rhyming children’s books. My goal as an author is to get children as excited about reading and writing poetry as I am. I hope you consider checking out my poetry book, “A Rhyme for Everything” or “The First Unibear” or any of my Hamilton Troll children’s books.

The Annual Telephone Call to Heaven
Last night I had a dream; a dream that you could make a phone call to heaven to talk with anyone there. The catch was: you could only make one call per year, to one person.
