First off, Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I hope your day is as perfect as this picture.

That being said, I’ve been asked to give some more writing points so here is one: description is key.  A writer is supposed to paint a picture with their words and here is a great way to practice that.

Take a look at this picture and describe the 5 senses:

Sight – Dinner is ready, the family is about to gather…

Taste – It is going to be flavorful, scrumptious and moist…

Smell – The warm aroma wafts into my nose and makes my belly grumble…

Touch – I can see from the steam it’s going to be hot. The juices are flowing from it proving how moist it’ll be…

Hear – I can hear everyone saying yum…

Using your imagination, what else can you say about this picture?

Find pictures that inspire your imagination and creativity and use the 5 senses to gather details for the picture. Then write a paragraph about it. There are so many amazing images on the internet, whenever you aren’t writing that soon-to-be great novel, keep practicing by doing some creative writing.

Writing is fun because you can
Be someone else, Go somewhere else and Do something else. Anything you can imagine. So let your imagination soar!
